Terms and Conditions

For all students, parents and guardians.

Expectations in respect of pupils admitted to the Dance School.

The aim of the Mad4Dance is to ensure that all students experience dance in a fun, friendly, positive and safe environment. In order to achieve this, please take note of the following guidelines. We would like to stress that these points are of great importance in assuring the wellbeing of all students in the School.

Failure to comply with the code of conduct may result in withdrawal from the Dance School.

Rules and Regulations

Punctuality

It is vital that students arrive at least five minutes prior to their classes. If students are late for class they may miss vital information and will impede the learning of others and place themselves at risk of injury should they miss the warm up section of the class.

Attendance

Regular attendance is extremely important. If students do not attend on a regular basis then the development of the class and the individual student will be affected.

Discipline

Students are expected to behave in an orderly, civilised and well-mannered way and to show respect to their teachers and when attending classes. Students should show respect to other students in their class and serve as a role model to younger dancers at all times, including appropriate language and behavior. Failure to comply with the rules and regulations may result in withdrawal from the Dance School.

Uniform

It is extremely important that students come to classes dressed in full Dance School uniform in order to be able to work correctly and safely in class and present a neat and elegant appearance. Full details of uniform requirements can found on our website. We ask that all students make a concerted effort to come to class with hair neatly tied back.

Changing

Students should only get changed in the designated changing areas in the presence of other students and/or
teachers, but never alone with one adult.

Drop Off/Collection

Parents/guardians are asked to drop off students directly before the start of their class. Students must be supervised by their parent/guardian on the premises until the class time.

  • Parents are requested to drop off their children a maximum of ten minutes before their class is due to start
  • Please stay with your child until they have gone into their class and then wait in foyer area in the main building
  • Parents should come back five minutes before class end time to collect their children

Personal Property

Students should make sure that they keep their valuable personal items with them at all times. The school regrets that we cannot be held responsible if items go missing. Mobile phones should be switched off or on silent mode and are not to be used during class.

Remuneration and fees

Fees are required to be paid by direct debit. Failure of payment may result in an admin fee and extensive failure could result in withdrawal from Dance School classes.

A one month's notice period is required to either cancel a class or leave the school completely.

Data Protection Policy

Mad4Dance staff members are not at liberty to enter into conversation with or disclose any information to parents relating to other Dance School students. Student’s information is confidential and retained by the school in accordance with our Data Protection Policy.

Visual and Social Media

Mad4Dance does not publish or post any images (static or moving) of children under the age of 18, across any of its online channels without prior written consent, and publishes minimal personal information alongside images.

Main Reception

Eating and drinking is not permitted in the main reception area (with the exception of water and drinks required for health reasons). All food and soft drinks must be consumed outside of the building.

Housekeeping

We want to keep our new studios looking as clean and professional as possible! Students should show respect and care for the studio equipment and facilities and ensure they put rubbish in the bins provided and clean up after themselves.

Parent (including carers or legal guardians) etiquette

To ensure the safety, enjoyment and efficiency of Mad4Dance, we ask parents to follow the below etiquette:

  • Demonstrate respect for teachers, students, staff and other parents at all times.
  • Take responsibility to read email updates and keep up-to-date with current activities and important information.
  • Ensure siblings are supervised at all times, equipment is treated with care and the waiting areas are left tidy.
  • Refrain from entering either dance studio unless invited by a teacher. This includes studios not in use and extends to siblings.
  • Understand and support the Mad4Dance approach by encouraging children to show commitment and positivity while working to the best of their own ability.
  • Respect our approach to establishing and maintaining professional relationships with our students and parents by ensuring all contact is made via Julie or the teacher in person or to Julie by phone or email.
  • Parents are to refrain from direct communication with staff via personal email, text, phone or social media unless on platforms managed directly by Mad4Dance (e.g. a private Facebook group).
  • Raise any concerns with a teacher or staff member by making an appointment.

 Health and Safety

  • Students are to strictly follow teachers’ instructions when it comes to any health and safety rules or observations. Students are encouraged to tell the teacher should they see anything they think maybe unsafe.
  • For health and safety reasons, a record of anyone who has entered the building is kept by us. It is essential for us that all parents/guardians sign in with an assistant when arriving at the school.
  • Mad4Dance has a formal Policy and associated procedures on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. Please read this carefully to ensure you understand it in relation to the Dance School. Acceptance of the Dance School Terms and Conditions will indicate an agreement to comply with the Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
  • Parents/guardians are asked to refrain from looking through windows of studios when classes are taking place.
  • Students should wear shoes at all times when walking around the building and make sure that ribbons/laces are tied properly.
  • It is essential that students are in the right place at the right time – if students are late for class they may miss vital information and place themselves at risk of injury should they miss the warm up section of the class.
  • Students should ensure they bring a bottle of water and drink plenty during the class.
  • If students hurt themselves in class or feel unwell at any point, they should tell their teacher or member of staff immediately who will act accordingly.
  • There must be no running or shouting in the building or grounds.
  • No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.
  • Fire regulation: if the fire alarm sounds, students must leave all belongings, strictly follow their teacher to make their way immediately to their nearest available fire exit and meet outside the front entrance.
  • Parents/guardians are asked to drive with due care when dropping off and collecting their children from classes and follow the one way system (Entrance train station side – Exit High Street side).
  • Children’s scooters, skate boards and roller skates must not be ridden/used anywhere inside the building or around the car park.

Disciplinary Actions

  • Inappropriate, disrespectful or aggressive behaviour by students, parents (including carers or legal guardians), extended friends and family, staff or volunteers will not be tolerated and may result in immediate cancellation of enrolment with no refund or further discussion or immediate termination of employment or contract.
  • A breach of the Terms and Conditions will result in one written warning. Further breaches may result in immediate cancellation of enrolment with no refund or further discussion or immediate termination of employment or contract.

The Mad4Dance Terms and Conditions will be reviewed on a yearly basis.
