Helping Young Minds is a registered charity which was founded in 2020 and is based at the Mad4Dance centre for Dance and Wellbeing in Christchurch. The charity aims to help and support children and young people in the local area with their mental and emotional wellbeing through activities, guidance, information and support.

The charity was founded by its trustees, Julie Laming (Mad4Dance Principal) along with Emily Weaver and Nick Love who both carry extensive knowledge and experience of working within the charity sector from a fundraising and accountancy point of view. Beth Eames, an experienced therapist, is also soon to officially join the board of trustees and brings with her 25 years of experience of working with young people and families.

Mad4Dance school is working in partnership with Helping Young Minds to help raise funds and build awareness of the mental health issues affecting so many young people today.

“There are so many young people struggling with the pressures that come with being a teenager in today’s world and the stresses of dealing with all the changes and choices they have to make at this time of their life. It is so easy to forget how hard it is to be young and in today’s culture, it’s harder than ever. We need to do more as a community to empower our young people so that they can journey into adulthood with a deeper self-confidence, purpose and hope.” Julie Laming
