About us

Welcome to Mad4Dance, where a nurturing community dedicated to fostering personal growth and self-discovery is at the heart of everything we do. At the centre of our dance school is a commitment to providing exceptional training that goes beyond mastering dance techniques. Here, the well-being of our students takes precedence, creating an environment where children and young people not only refine their skills but also develop confidence and resilience. Mad4Dance is more than a dance school; it is a place where young people are empowered to express themselves, develop special meaningful friendships, and discover their unique potential. Join us on this extraordinary dance adventure, where every step is a celebration of individuality and collective joy.

history

Mad4Dance was founded by Julie Laming in 2005 where it grew from an after-school club at the Priory school to the dance school it is now. Julie graduated from dance college as a teacher in ISTD ballet, modern and tap with a passion and determination to teach dance in a way that enables children and young people to gain greater confidence in who they are.  As the school grew, Julie gradually built a strong team of teachers always ensuring that each of them hold the same values and ethos of the school.

venue

Our Dance & Wellbeing Centre found in the centre of Christchurch is home to Mad4Dance school and a base for the charity called Elevate Foundation. It is a safe and familiar space for children to learn, flourish and grow with 2 beautiful purpose built studios, kitchen, changing room, waiting areas and a snug for meetings and therapy sessions. Our vision for this centre is to provide a place for dance, as well as other activities and support to improve the wellbeing of children and young people in our local area. We want to use this centre to help, support and develop children and young people and ensure they know they are not alone.
